This Game We Love

With an estimated following of over 5 billion people, football is arguably the world most popular sport. Its influence has known no bounds. It is a game that has connected all kinds of people. It transcends beyond the round leather itself. It has been a sport that evokes emotion in even the hardest of its supporters and participants alike. 

'The Beautiful Game' as it is popularly called has pierced millions of people in the world and Africa alike. Part of its popularity in Africa is due to its accessibility and the innovativeness of its young fans to create a replica of a football out of almost anything.  This is the game they love to play on their field, watch on their televisions and in game houses, listen to on the radio, play on consoles and even bet their monies on.

This project is a tribute to the sport that I and many others adore and the images are a witness to how the sport has become an integral part of our lives.
